If you’ve purchased your new smile plan, then you and your aligners have some serious, and beneficial, bonding time ahead of you, which means your confidence is about to go way, way up. Welcome to the aligner life.
Here are a few things you can expect from wearing your clear aligners:
It’s completely normal to experience some discomfort during your first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. If you don’t feel any discomfort, that’s okay, too. It’s different for everyone.
It’s common to have a slight lisp for the first few days after a wearing a new set of aligners. Just roll with it. Eventually, your mouth will get used to having the aligners in.
Is it okay? Of course, now catch some Zzz’s.
There’s no romantic way to remove your aligners. We recommended taking them out before your dinner date begins. Then pop them back in after your meal. Drool is never cute.
Unlike braces, you can eat or drink whatever you want. You just have to take your aligners out before consuming your tasty treats. Oh, and always brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in and give them a little rinse too. It’s always a good idea to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water before handling your aligners.
You should only drink cool water while wearing your aligners. Hot liquids can damage or warp them and other beverages, like soda, encourage cavities and stains. So if you’re going to drink all of the above, just take your aligners out.
