What is a flexible spending account (FSA)?
An FSA is a medical savings account that allows you to set aside a portion of your earnings to pay for qualified medical expenses. Money deducted from your paycheck is not subject to payroll taxes, and it’s not taxed when you withdraw it. FSAs are available through your employer, and you need to define the amount of money you’ll contribute to your account for year during open enrollment. Funds expire at the end of the year, so you need to use them or lose them.
What is a health savings account (HSA)?
An HSA is a medical savings account available to people who are enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). Funds put into the account aren’t subject to federal income tax at the time of deposit, and you don’t pay any taxes on money you withdraw for medical expenses. With an HSA, even one provided through your employer, the money and the account are yours, and the funds roll over from year to year.
How can I purchase invisible aligners using my HSA or FSA?
If you have a debit card associated with your HSA or FSA account, simply process your payment on our site like you would any credit card. If you have an HSA/FSA without a debit card, give our Smile Experts a call at (800) 688-0450 so they can help you process it.
Does SmileDirectClub take payments through insurance?
If your dental plan provides orthodontic benefits, you may be reimbursed directly from your insurance company after purchasing your aligners. SmileDirectClub doesn’t accept direct payment from insurance companies, but we can get you the forms you need to file your claim for reimbursement.
How does the at-home impression kit work?
Take impressions of your top and bottom teeth from the comfort of your own home, then mail them to us in a prepaid shipping box. A licensed dental professional will use your impressions to build a 3D image of your smile to show you exactly how your teeth will move throughout your new smile plan.
What if I want help making impressions?
An alternative to an at-home impression kit, you can visit a SmileShop to make a 3D image of your smile. In 30 minutes or less, our SmileGuides will use a highly accurate 3D camera to make a digital map of your smile, which our licensed dental professionals use to build your new smile plan. Why do I need a retainer?
As with any orthodontic treatment, you’ll need to wear a retainer regularly to maintain your new smile. Otherwise, your teeth will want to move back to their former positions. Replace your retainers every six months to keep them fresh and fitting properly.
Do you have a money back guarantee?
Yes! If it’s determined that aligner therapy isn’t the right fit for you, we will gladly refund your impression kit or SmileShop visit price. With our Confident Smile Guarantee, if during aligner treatment you’re not satisfied for any reason, you can return any unused and unopened aligners and we will refund the prorated amount from the total purchase price.
