6 easy self-care things you should do every day

Self-care doesn’t just mean taking a bubble bath with slices of cucumbers on your eyes (although, sign us up for that too). An act of self-care can be as simple as washing your face or making your bed.

Make 2019 the year of self-care. Get started with these 6 easy things that you should do for yourself every day.

1. Wash your face.

Start the year off right by establishing an easy new skincare routine. All it takes is 3 products – a cleanser, serum, and moisturizer – and less than 5 minutes twice a day to properly care for your skin. Even when you’re half asleep and can barely muster the energy to take out your contacts, taking a few minutes to wash your face after you brush and whiten your teeth will always pay off. 2. Take your vitamins.

If you take a multivitamin or any supplements, get back on track by making sure you’re taking them every day to nourish your body. 3. Make your bed.

4. Eat something for breakfast.

Whether this means scrambling an egg, sitting down for a bowl of oatmeal, or grabbing a protein bar out of your desk drawer as you settle in to your desk, it’s important to fuel your body for the day. Having something in your system will kick-start your metabolism and increase your energy levels throughout the day.

5. Move your body.

We’re not saying you have to work out 5–6 times a week to take care of your body. But moving your body in a small way every single day will make you feel better. Take a 15-minute walk during your lunch break. Walk the dog. Find an at-home workout video online. Stretch. Try a new fitness class with a friend. Do candlelit yoga at home before bed. 6. Create a pre-bedtime ritual.
